Why are women smaller than men                                 and why do they live longer?

The female cells are believed to be more inhibited in their growth than cells in men because of larger cell mosaic in the female. It may lead to smaller body size, reduced growth of prominent body parts and to less chance of getting cancer and arteriosclerosis. More inhibition of cell growth compared to men may have reduced the number of generations of their cells and thereby given the cells of women the ability to continue to grow better than the cells in an old man of the same age.
